Welcome Spring Soccer Players!
I would like to welcome all new players and all returning players and families to the NSC boys’ In-house soccer program. NSC is dedicated to providing a fun learning environment for all youth soccer players! Our boy’s in-house program is designed to provide players with developmentally appropriate soccer training in a fun, and fair atmosphere.
Coaching/Training:
Our coaches are parent volunteers who are encouraged to teach the players while also promoting FUN, FUN, FUN! Coaches are given age appropriate practice material to allow ALL players to learn regardless of ability. Coaches will be required to complete the U.S. Soccer's Introductory to Grassroots Coaching course. Training by our own NSC trainers will also be offered 1 evening a week for each age group. Training will help develop more refined soccer skills by professionals in a FUN, and exciting atmosphere. Coaching is a great way to volunteer and very exciting and VERY rewarding!
Games:
U6, U7, and U8 in-house games are played each Saturday at our CNX Turner Valley complex. Here are a few things to remember:
- All players must wear shin guards and cleats (no metal) to all practices and games
- Players should bring water or sports drink to all practices and games
- Socks are to be on the outside of the shin guards
- No jewelry of any kind is permitted. Band-Aids cannot be worn over earrings
- Players may wear anything under their shirts to keep warm if it is cold, just avoid metal zippers and dangling strings
- A soccer ball (size appropriate for the age group) with your name and phone number
- Tiny Kickers to U8 – Size 3
- U-9, U-10 & U-12 – Size 4
- U-13 & UP – Size 5
U10
Depending on registration numbers, the U10 boys might play games against our U10 girls and also co-ed teams from Elizabeth Forward and Yough.
Jerseys:
All Players are required to purchase one white and one navy blue jersey when registering if they don't have one from a prior season or they need a new size. The jerseys will be distributed to you prior to the start of the season if you didn't register after the close of registration.
Weather:
YES… we play soccer in the rain and/or snow. It is up to you as a parent to decide if your child plays in snowy or rainy weather. We will only cancel if the fields are closed. Please check the website at www.norwinsoccer.org for field closures. I recommend signing up for the text or email alerts , this can be done via the website.
Tournament Day:
We will have an end of season tournament at the conclusion of both the Spring and Fall season. This will consist of lots of delicious food, fun games, and lots of soccer. This is a day where we can spend time with our families, friends, and support the love of the game.
I am committed to the development of youth soccer. I strive to provide the opportunity for all the players to play the game and develop a LOVE for soccer. I want the players to have FUN and be proud to be a member of the Norwin Soccer Community. I want the coaches to have a rewarding experience! I want them to learn, love, and support the NSC. I cannot stress enough that the parents are the most important piece to our club. Please contact me with any questions, ideas, or comments. And most of all thank you for allowing me to share in your child’s soccer experience.
